I wish they didn't use Styrofoam but this is great! Although the wait staff isn't great I do say this is one of the best bbq places I can find. Slap ya Mamas and all that just... I can't find appealing. Dickies is good just WAYYYYYY overpriced. This is a good cheap prices place. Only issue is when they weigh it the young girl won't take the excess fat off before weighing. Was charged for more fat than meat with her. But with the owner I always get great meals with pricing since he does it best. GREAT PLACE!

Great smells, great food, and very clean local restaurant. Wife and I stopped by here on our way to New Orleans. Like many local BBQ venues, orders are taken at the counter and served in a styrofoam box. Wife ordered the "Robert E. Lee" -- a pulled pork sandwich topped with slaw -- with cheesy potato casserole and bread pudding for her sides. I ordered the chicken-ribs-sausage combo, also with the potato casserole and bread pudding. All three meats were excellent -- chicken was very tender, sausage full of flavor (but not overly spicy), and ribs fell off the bone. Though I didn't walk away hungry, portions were a little on the small side (only two meager sized ribs on this combo plate). Wife enjoyed her pulled pork sandwich as well. Best item was the homemade (and purportedly award winning) BBQ sauce. No bottles on the table - sauce is served in a little cup. Extra potions of sauce are going to cost you an extra 50 cents per cup. That aside, the sauce was fantastic. So much so that we bought a bottle to take home with us ($5.00). If you're in southern Mississippi and hungry for some local barbecue, give this place a try.

Love It. One of my favorite places to eat on the coast. I never leave on a empty stomach, very clean, wonderful service, great atmosphere all the way around.

The place is VERY CLEAN! I had brisket, and wasn't very excited when I saw it get served...it came out of some sort of water. I don't know if this is common practice anywhere else but I thought is was weird. The sauce comes in little packages, which I'm not a huge fan of. Long story short, the service is very good, the joint is clean as hell, but the food didn't excite me and I won't be back. Sorry so brief but Russian Ninjas are attacking my house and I have to go fight em off.

I love this place. The food is delicious and they have a plethora of gluten-free options.

This place is great! It is a little hole in the wall. The atmosphere is less admirable than cafeteria style. The chicken is great for take out and all the sides are great! If you have a recipe that is awesome for bread pudding, it could be better than theirs. You should know that there is a chance they could run out of your favorites and note, they are closed on Sundays. Update I spoke with them on the phone, I found them to be very curt and very un-resourceful. To be frank, the girl was just rude.

Great food! My 4 year old loves the ribs! I think we have had everything on the menu and have been happy with it all! Even had their food at my husbands 40th bday party and it was all gone! They could be more friendly though!

Read the yelp reviews before trying this "great, hole-in-the-wall" restaurant last week. Very disappointing for us. We entered and the girl working was hardly happy to see us, her only customers. Let that go, Maybe she was having a bad morning. She quickly warmed up to become friendly and explained the menu when we told her it was our first visit. We both ordered the brisket plate. She promptly began making our lunches. She weighed the brisket and scooped the side items. We started eating our brisket and realized it was more than half FAT, and we couldn't eat it. The side items ordered were beans, which my husband said tasted like they were from a can and nothing special. The potato casserole type side was decent and we both agreed the bread pudding was really good. This was an expensive $31 lunch-lesson for us. Either don't WEIGH the fatty brisket or pull the fat OFF before weighing please!! Keep your money and hit one of the other awesome bbq joints close by.

Be ready to be judged ! This place is run by crazy Christians . I've literally seen them call the police on customers simply because they did not like the look of them . Seriously . They bought sandwiches and brought them outside to eat on the tailgate of their truck . The owner called the police on them for loitering . The food is mediocre at best and the owners are terrible people .

Disappointing! We love the Stonewalls in Picayune so we assumed this would be the same. Not so. 1. It was expensive, I had a sandwich and two sides and two kids meals and it was $22.50. 2. My brisket sandwich was full of slimy fat and tasted like liver. I didn't even eat a quarter of it. 3. The potato salad looked like it came right from the Walmart plastic container, as did the beans. I threw away 90% of my meal. 4. The kids meals come with "Bug Juice", which is basically water and dye/corn syrup. They should either offer bottled water, juice boxes or just let the kids get tea/lemonade. Overall, it was a big disappointment. We won't be back and I wished I'd just driven the few extra miles to the Shed. :-(

Love the BBQ but dislike the styrofoam too. LOL! I usually get the brisket or the ribs. Last time the brisket was a little too fatty for my liking. I do like the rub used on the ribs. Delish!!!!! A must try.

Styrofoam! Good grief, why do so many places serve their barbecue on styrofoam? There's something about that that just ain't right. Complaint #2: they serve their sauce in mini (read: very small) sealed containers... necessitating at least one trip back to the counter to ask for more of what is actually a pretty good (and thick) sauce. Now, with that out of my system, let me tell you what is right about Stonewalls - and that's just about everything. Two freshly scrubbed smiling faces greet you when you come through the door. You order at the counter and by the time they give you back your credit card (no AmEx), they''re handing you your order (in styrofoam to go plates, whether you're planning to go or not). This is one of the few places where the sides are almost as good as the main entrees. For openers, the thinly sliced brisket was as good as we've enjoyed for some while. There may be complaints about the thin ;layer of fat across the top of each slice, but that's where the rich smokey flavor resides. The pulled pork is a close second while their baby back ribs are thicker than you'll find most anywhere, and while good, they pull in third after the brisket and pulled pork. The slaw, finely chopped was full flavored, the potato salad likely the best to be found anywhere along the gulf, and the cheese to mac ratio made that a favorite as well. You may want to save room for their bread pudding. For $1.50 you get a cup of a great meal capper. And (hint) if you "friend" them on Facebook, the dessert is on them. Eat inside on kept clean tables or outside on the patio, wherever, you can't miss the fact that ownership of this Mississippi eatery are obviously Roll Tide fans. Read the walls. And for those of us who collect them (the Brown Shoe Gourmet has more than 200 from barbecue stops across the country), they have great t-shirts. Just this side of Biloxi, Stonewall's is worth the 5 minutes off the highway - and those four stars at the top of the page will be transformed to five when they give their customers free reign to their great sauce and stop making us eat off styrofoam plates.

Awesome bread pudding and chicken! The brisket is half fat and the ribs are a bit small. You can't go wrong on any of the sides... Divine!

This place was awesome! Barbecue was well smoked, super tasty, and glazed with the best tasting stuff in the world. You must definitely come eat here.

Go light on the chicken wings, they have a lot of flavor, maybe too much. Can taste a lot of vinegar in them and it kinda makes it unpleasant after the first couple. Will try back later for other items, hope they are better.

Amazing barbecue! Boyfriend had the ribs and sausage. The glaze on it was amazing, it was smoked perfectly, and the meat fell off the bone exactly the way you would want it to. Easy access from the highway. They actually had vegetarian baked beans which were perfect for me. The bread pudding is also great and massively fattening.

Always good. Portion sizes seem to always vary. Girls are always pretty, and the cheezy potato heavenly goodness side dish is the greatest thing there.

Great food, good prices, clean and friendly atmosphere...what's not to love. A great place to grab your lunch cuz they are quick. Definitely worth trying...if you do, you'll be back. Try the bread pudding, it's awesome!

Great BBQ...the only problem is they don't give you much!!! I had to go to Salvetti's after and eat again to get full!

Visited Stonewalls shortly after opening. Ribs were ok but small, I did taste a smoked flavor. The biggest dissapointment however was the brisket, although it was sliced not shredded like that other BBQ place and had a smoke ring our slices were all fat. Sides were ok but the bread pudding was dry dry dry. I may be tempted in the future to give them another try.
